Meat Loaf Manages To Make Gary Busey Look Calm And Rational.

Meat Loaf is a dish best served hot.

NBC had been promoting it all week – the “Meat Loaf Breakdown!’ (Personally, I thought “Meat Loaf Meltdown” would have sounded better, but they didnt’ ask me.) So all through Celebrity Apprentice, you couldn’t help but wait for it.

Then, during an ordinary moment after returning from a shopping trip, the music started. Suddenly it’s an episode of ’24’ with a synth-orchestra vamping a ‘we’ve got to cut the yellow wire on this bomb before it detonates’ kind of feel. Then, all hell breaks loose. For some reason.

The fact that Loaf (or “Meat” as his friends creepily call him) has his underwear in a bunch over some acrylic paint makes the whole thing that much more mystifying. (I’m sure the folks at Liquitex paints aren’t so disappointed that they’re branding is part of a viral phenomenon right about now!)

Spoiler alert: The results of the episode follow:

In a not so surprising “crazy TV is good TV” moment, Meat Loaf was NOT fired. Instead, perennial snake Richard Hatch gets fired. A good thing to0… because a Rhode Island court was particularly interested in seeing him again to discuss his ongoing tax problems.
