VIDEO: Harry Belafonte Falls Asleep Waiting for Live Interview…Or Does He?

A rep for 84 year old Harry Belafonte is unnecessarily making excuses for why Harry Belafonte seems to have been fast asleep when a TV station began their live interview with him. Check out the video.

Belafonte was sitting in front of the camera for what was to be a live interview with a Bakersfield, California, television station. But when the anchor introduced him, it seems like we was fast asleep.

You just KNOW this video went viral after that. In my opinion I think he may have just been chilling while he waited, and his IFB  earpiece may not have been turned on. No big whoop.

But wait!!! says Belafonte’s representative, defending Harry as though some crime has been committed. He wasn’t sleeping! He was meditating! Quick! Release a statement!

“After weeks of literally hundreds of interviews promoting his HBO documentary, memoir and CD, Mr. Belafonte had an early morning satellite TV tour this past Friday. True to form, there was a technical glitch in the feed to a local station in Bakersfield, California. His earpiece wasn’t working, so he decided to take the time to meditate before the rest of his Day-O. Mr. Belafonte is 84 years young, but sharper and more awake than most who have been interviewing him. Maybe the world would be a better place if more people took a moment to meditate.”

Good statement. Unnecessary, but good. Witty, Good humored. The world can return to normal!
