Country Singer Mindy McCready On The Run With 5 Year Old Son
Authorities are searching for Mindy McCready after the country singer took the boy from his father’s home and hasn’ t been seen since. But McCready tells a slightly different story.
According to FOX News, Florida’s Department of Children and Families says a missing persons report was filed earlier this week. But McCready emailed Access Hollywood to clarify that the two are not missing and that she has not kidnapped her son.
“I am working with lawyers to try to get all this straightened out … I did not steal my child, as it would be impossible for me to kidnap what already belongs to me! There never was any missing persons report and never an Amber Alert.”
And yet, McCready, who does not have custody of the boy, has been given a court ordered ultimatum to return the child by Thursday. Says FOX: “McCready’s mother is the boy’s guardian and the singer was allowed to visit the boy at her father’s home, according to a department spokesman.”
If McCready doesn’t return the child by the court imposted deadline, a warrant will be issued for her arrest.
