Giuliana Rancic To Undergo Double Mastectomy
E! host Giuliana Rancic will undergo a double mastectomy in hopes of eradicating her breast cancer once and for all. She and husband Bill Rancic made the decision after lumpectomies and radiation were unsuccessful.
E! host Giuliana Rancic will undergo a double mastectomy in hopes of eradicating her breast cancer once and for all. She and husband Bill Rancic appeared on the Today show to discuss the decision, which they made after lumpectomies and radiation  were unsuccessful.
Double mastectomies are becoming more common among women with breast cancer. Although the procedure is more drastic than continuing with other treatments, it dramatically reduces the chances that the cancer will return and subsequently spread – down to less than one percent. Rancic joins celebrities Wanda Sykes and Christina Applegate who have undergone the surgery.
Says Rancic: “For me, it was important to get the cancer out… That’s what I wanted to do, just get it out.”
