M*A*S*H Star Harry Morgan Dies

Sad news to report in the world of television today, as Emmy-winning actor Harry Morgan has passed away.

Morgan was best known as the fatherly Col. Potter in the “M*A*S*H” television series, but his career extends a lot further, including nine other TV series, 50 films and stints on Broadway.

His daughter-in-law, Beth Morgan, told The Associated Press the actor died at his home in Brentwood after having pneumonia:

“He was side-splittingly funny, a very gent and loving father-in-law…He was very humble about having such a successful career.”

Harry Morgan was 96.
