Rooney Mara Trashes “Law and Order” and ELM STREET Roles
With her starring role as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO, Rooney Mara has turned into a household name.  But that wasn’t always the case, and now, Mara is throwing a few punches at some of her old works, including an episode of “Law and Order” and the remake of A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET.
During a recent interview with the New York Post, Mara described her episode of “Law and Order” as “awful” and “stupid.” She also ended up trashing the entire series, saying that, “People are obsessed with that show. I don’t get it.”
But it didn’t stop there…in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mara said that she didn’t even want the lead role in A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, and was less than thrilled when she got it:
“You kind of learn to self-sabotage with things you don’t want to get…Sometimes you don’t want to get something, but you do a really good job and you get in anyway. That’s kind of [what happened] with ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ – I didn’t even really want it. And then I went in [to audition], and I was like, ‘F*ck. I definitely got that.'”
Mara was so traumatized that she even thought about  quitting acting altogether:
“I didn’t want to act anymore. I was like, this isn’t what I signed up for. If this is what my opportunities are going to be like, then I’m not that interested in acting. So I was very discouraged and disheartened. And then I got the ‘Social Network’ script. That kind of inspired me.”
So what do you think?  Are these normal feelings to be had by an up and coming actress, or is Mara too ungrateful for all her little breaks leading up to her big one?
Good day! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after browsing through many of the posts I realized it’s new to me. Anyways, I’m certainly delighted I found it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back frequently!|
