Sugarland Lawyers Say Fans Were Responsible For Any Injuries At Concert

Attorneys for the band, Sugarland, are now saying that fans who were killed and injured when stage rigging and sound equipment collapsed at the Indiana State Fair are at least in part to blame for their injuries.

Attorneys for the band, Sugarland, are now saying that fans who were killed and injured when stage rigging and sound equipment collapsed at the Indiana State Fair are at least in part to blame for their injuries.

According to MSNBC, the statement, part of a Feb. 16 response to a civil suit filed by survivors and families of some of those killed, is an attempt to push blame away from the band as investigators continue to search for answers.  Attorneys say the hurt and deceased failed to take steps to ensure their own safety, and while fair officials and Mid-America Sound Corp. were responsible for the stage setup, fans voluntarily assumed risk by attending the show.

Seven people were killed at that August 13th show.  58 were injured.
