A few months ago, Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” books were on the fast track to becoming three films and two limited-run TV series.  Then, the project was cancelled by Universal, all due to the budget.   And now, it’s all coming back!

According to Worst Previews, Warner Bros is very close to signing a deal that would once again put THE DARK TOWER into development.  They have bought Akiva Goldsman’s script and are paying him to do a polish.  Ron Howard is still on board to direct, and Javier Bardem is still interested in starring as gunslinger Roland Deschain, as long as his schedule permits.

If all goes as planned, shooting will begin in the first quarter of 2013.
