Wheat Thins Is Trying To Target Me. I Can Feel It.

Call this a hobby of mine; analyzing what a brand is trying to do. Now they've got two new videos, with one featuring Tracy Morgan, and another with Alex Trebek. Check em out! I'm not being paid by Wheat Thins, I'm simply a connoisseur of both advertising and snacking.

Methinks Wheat Thins is trying to get me to eat more of their crackers. I sat up and noticed the cleverness of their campaign featuring Stewie and Brian from Family Guy. Hmm… going for the younger hipper demographic, right? Men, perhaps? Whatever the case, they’re getting on the viral bandwagon. (They have their own Youtube channel, for crying out loud.) They have a TWITTER Account, which is absolutely SLAUGHTERING me in followers. (Note to wheat thins: follow me!) This might be due to the fact that one time they picked a random fan on twitter and surprised them with more Wheat Thins any one person could conceivably eat. That said, who wouldn’t enjoy such a surprise? The things I would do to those crackers! (Nothing strange, to be honest I was thinking cheese.)

Here’s Tracy Morgan’s spot which features the 30 Rock star in a bizarre apartment that I could not afford:

Here’s the Alex Trebek spot. While many partygoers might find him annoying, he would be totally welcome to crash my party with trivia questions:
