Celebrity Fashion Faceoff: Did Jessica Simpson Copy A High Fashion Shoe And Sell It For $900 Less?

 

Jessica Simpson is making high-fashion heels accessible … much to the chagrin of Christian Louboutin! Simpson, who has a billion dollar fashion empire of her own, is featured in an advertisement wearing high-heeled pink strappy sandals for her own line.

But fashion fans have a keen eye for lookalikes, and noticed how striking the resemblance was to Louboutin’s Staratata sandals, which sold out in 2010 – for $995 a pair. Simpson’s ‘Evangel’ sandal sells for $98 — and features a tan sole, unlike Louboutin’s signature red sole..

Loubouton has taken action against rival shoemakers before – he as already sued Yves Saint Laurent for putting red soles on their stilettos - but a judge thew the case out, saying “in fashion, color is an ingredient.”

It remains to be seen whether he’ll take a stand against Simpson.
