Just one purchase can make a difference in the lives of South African women.

What if you could buy a handcrafted piece of art, knowing that it would actually benefit the person that made it? Many big businesses simply copy and mass produce the centuries-old craftmanship found in the art of distant cultures. But when American designer Staci Ranew travelled to South Africa to meet the women handcrafting home accessories with barely a profit, she decided to do something.

SCROLL DOWN FOR THE VIDEO!

After spending time with these women, seeing their struggle and need for opportunity, Ranew started Imagine Home, an organization that sells the handcrafted work of impoverished South African women, and then sends a much greater portion of the money raised from those sales back to them… allowing them to provide for their families. The items include handwoven baskets, tote bags, hand carved letter openers and more. (ps… They’re beautiful!)

The video below tells of her experience. For more information, or to buy some of these items, visit http://www.imagine-home.com/
