Rihanna Mourns Her Grandmother, Chris Brown Expresses His Condolenses

Sad news to report from the Rihanna camp this morning…the singer’s grandmother, Clara Brathwaite, has passed away.

Rihanna shared the news with her fans via her Twitter page Saturday, when she tweeted, “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you,” along with a number of photos of her grandmother.

According to GossipCop, Clara, whom Rihanna affectionately called GranGran Dolly, lost a battle with cancer.

The R&B singer’s mother also tweeted her condolences to her daughter, writing, “ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL,” to which Rihanna replied, “Thank you! Love u mama.”

Another notable aspect of the story, however, is the fact that the one and only Chris Brown also tweeted, “Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP.”

Makes you wonder if, after everything those two have been through, the comment was welcomed by the family or not…
