The Hobbit is Done Shooting!

Peter Jackson has made an announcement that has many fans jumping for joy.

Peter Jackson made an announcement on his facebook page that has his fans very excited – bringing them that much closer to seeing The Hobbit.

We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on ‘The Hobbit,’” he wrote. “Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!

Jackson has done what some thought would never happen (remember when The Hobbit got pushed back due to lawsuits and crew issues?), finished shooting two films – the first titled “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” is set to hit theaters this December, as well as the second, titled “The Hobbit: There and Back Again” which is set to hit theaters the following December. Until then, hundreds of fans at San Diego’s Comic Con (including hopefully myself ) will hopefully get a chance to see a few scenes of completely finished product. We also have a trailer for the first installment:
