Rosie O’Donnell Suffered “WidowMaker” Heart Attack Last Week
Rosie O’Donnell is lucky to be alive this week, after suffering a major heart attack caused by a good deed.
O’Donnell explained the incident on her Rosie.com blog yesterday afternoon, saying that it all started when she tried to help a woman get out of a vehicle:
“i turned and saw an enormous woman/struggling to get out of her car/she was stuck…as i braced myself and lifted her/it was not easy/but together we did it/she was up and on her way/with gratitude,”
A few hours later, however, the 50-year-old comedian said that she was in major pain:
“i had an ache in my chest/both my arms were sore/everything felt bruised.”
Soon, Rosie said she started to feel “clammy,” “very hot” and began vomiting. When she threw her symptoms into a basic online search, she realized that what she was experiencing was women’s heart attack symptoms. That let her save the day with one little pill:
“i took some bayer aspirin/thank god/saved by a tv commercial/literally.”
O’Donnell got herself to a hospital the next day, where doctors realized that one of her arteries was “99% blocked.”
Rosie says she knows she is lucky to be alive, especially with what her condition is nicknamed:
“they call this type of heart attack/the Widow maker…I am lucky to be here.”
We wish her only the best.
