After a weekend for both family and fans to celebrate his life, Michael Clarke Duncan, the actor known to millions as the gentle giant with a heart of gold, was laid to rest today.
NBC is reporting that Duncan was laid to rest in a Hollywood cemetery after a weekend dedicated to celebrating his life. Many Hollywood stars, including Tom Hanks, Jay Leno, Vivica A. Fox and Holly Robinson Peete paid their respects.
A public memorial was also held at the Hall of Liberty at Forest Lawn Memorial-Parks and Mortuaries in Hollywood Hills yesterday. The four-hour, closed-casket memorial included a slideshow, words from his friends, and a full screening of the movie that brought the world such an amazing talent, THE GREEN MILE.
Duncan passed away last Monday from complications due to a massive heart attack two months ago. He was 54 years old.
His fiance, reality TV star Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, along with many Hollywood actors, are expected to pay their respects during private services that will be held today.
Rest in Peace Big Man. You will be missed.
