Gwyneth Paltrow May Not Return For AVENGERS 2

Pepper Potts may not be in Marvel’s universe much longer…

While attending the premiere of THANKS FOR SHARING at TIFF this week, Gwyneth Paltrow was asked about Marvel’s  highly anticipated IRON MAN 3, and while she says that filming was a blast, she’s not sure if she wants to continue with anymore big budget epics:

“I just came off of ‘Iron Man 3,’ which is as special effects-y and action-y as it gets, so to do something like [‘Thanks For Sharing’] where it’s really small, funny and exciting, is really great…I don’t know [about returning for ‘The Avengers’ sequel], I’m getting old for this sh*t.”

Was that a LETHAL WEAPON reference I heard?  Touché, Gwyneth, touché…

So would the upcoming IRON MAN 3 be the last time we see Pepper Potts on screen with Tony Stark?  Something tells me that while Paltrow may sit out AVENGERS 2 (where she probably wouldn’t be more than a glorified fan-loved cameo), Marvel will make sure they guarantee her return for any upcoming sequels.  With all the money Phase 2 will be bringing in, they’ll be able to afford it…
