Despite recent rumors that James Cameron would try to make three AVATAR sequels at once (when he likes an idea, he really likes an idea...), it is now being reported that the famed director will not be making any entries besides his previously announced trilogy.

Worst Previews is reporting that producer Jon Landau has confirmed that the people behind AVATAR are “doing two back-to-back, but not a third.”

Cameron has recently stated that he was quitting directing and focusing full time on Pandora, saying, “I’m in the ‘Avatar’business. Period. That’s it. I’m making ‘Avatar 2,’ ‘Avatar 3,’ maybe ‘Avatar 4,'” The original plan was to have AVATAR 2 in theaters in December of 2014, but production needs has pushed it back to at least the end of 2015.
