NBC’s “Munsters” Remake Doesn’t Get Picked Up, Will Turn Into Halloween Special

For months, we’ve been telling you about the new “Munsters” remake, “Mockingbird Lane”.  Produced by Bryan Fuller and Bryan Singer, and starring a hell of a cast that included Jerry O’Connell, Portia de Rossi and Eddie Izzard, NBC spent $10 million on developing its new dramatic take on the old family favorite.

And now, we’re getting word that the pilot episode wasn’t even picked up for a series…

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that NBC decided against bringing the new reinvention to air (no reason was given), and instead, will just air the pilot episode as a last minute Halloween special.

The airing, seemingly a way to try and recoup any of their investment they can, will take place on Friday, October 26th at 8PM…an interesting placement seeing as how Friday nights are usually dump nights for television (although maybe being the last Friday before Halloween will give the show a little bit of kick).

So the question is are you looking forward to seeing “Mockingbird Lane”?  And even if you are, will you be staying home on the Friday night before Halloween to watch it?

  • I really enjoyed this first episode, I really did and hope someone picks it up agian and makes a full series about it. It had a diffrent feel and a fuller plot than the original though I love it dearly my family enjoyed the halloween special and were left wanting more.
