Ryan Gosling Drops Out Of LOGANS RUN Remake

Ryan Gosling has unexpectedly left the remake of LOGANS RUN.

Ryan Gosling was supposed to finally headline a huge summer movie, something he has not chosen to do until now, preferring smaller, less commercial films. The film was a remake of LOGANS RUN, the 1970’s sci-fi film about a world that has a mandatory death sentence for everyone as they reach a certain age. Gosling was set too work with his DRIVE, and ONLY GOD FORGIVES director Nicolas Winding Refn. Winding Refn is still attached to direct as far as we know, so it is unknown why Gosling left the project. According to IMDB, Rose Byrne is also attached to star, from the script written by Alex Garland (DREDD 3D, 28 DAYS LATER). This remake has been over a decade in the making so you have got to wonder what the backstory is that led producers to lose their star. Second thoughts? Scheduling issues? Or trouble behind the scenes?
