Susan Sarandon is a show business veteran – and now she’s opening up about horrific treatment during the early days of her career.

Sarandon tells the November issue of Elle magazine (via Radar) that she is a survivor of sexual assault during her early acting years – pointing out one specific incident where an audition took a terrible turn.

“It was not successful — for either of us … I just went into a room, and a guy practically threw me on the desk. It was my early days in New York, and it was really disgusting. It wasn’t like I gave it a second thought, it was so badly done.”

The actress doesn’t reveal what she was auditioning for when the incident occurred.

Sarandon is active in lobbying for stricter lows against sex trafficking.

Sarandon stars in the upcoming “Cloud Atlas” (out Oct. 26.)
