Swingin’ Spidey! Andrew Garfield and Marc Webb Both Return For AMAZING SPIDER-MAN Sequel!

Our amazing Spidey (and his director) are back!

Worst Previews is reporting that both THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN star Andrew Garfield and director Marc Webb have officially signed on for the sequel!

A few months ago, Webb’s return was not exactly guaranteed, as Fox Searchlight had him under contract to direct another movie around the same time that the sequel would be shooting.  (The deal then would be that Webb could return, but only if he commits to directing the next two films for the studio.)

Whatever the final agreement was, Sony has released a statement, saying:

“We could not be more confident in the direction we are taking this new Spider-Man storyline and we are tremendously excited to be ramping up production again with Marc at the helm and Andrew continuing on as Peter Parker…We can’t wait to share what we have in store for Peter and Spider-Man with audiences worldwide.”

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 will begin shooting early next year, and will hit theaters May 2nd, 2014.
