David Yates Commits To TARZAN

HARRY POTTER director David Yates has joined Edgar Rice Burroughs Adaption of TARZAN.

Following the critical and box office success of the final four HARRY POTTER films, director David Yates has be searching for his next major project. Now it seems that Yates has made his choice!

According to NY Magazine, Yates has decided he will direct an adaptation of Edgar Rice Burroughs TARZAN for Warner Brothers. (The film has been in development stages for years with plenty of directors dropping out but now Yates looks to move the film forward.)

Of course since Yates has just joined, we have no word on a casting situation but according to NY Mag, Yates will meet up with Henry Cavill (MAN OF STEEL), Charlie Hunnam (PACIFIC RIM), and Alexander Skarsgård (HBO’s “True Blood”). They also say that Warner Brothers is trying to attract Tom Hardy (THE DARK KNIGHT RISES) to the role, but no word on Hardy’s interest.
