That’s the signpost up ahead…

Fans of “The Twilight Zone”, get ready… not only do you now have Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie to look forward to, but also a brand new television show courtesy of your favorite X-MEN director!

Joblo is reporting that X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST director Bryan Singer is getting ready to develop, executive produce and possibly direct a new “Twilight Zone” series.  No word on the exact format, but the expectation is the show will follow the same anthology feel as the original, and will end up back at CBS.

The original “Twilight Zone” series ran for five seasons back in 1959.  It was revived for a three season run in the mid 80s, as well as a brief one season stint back in 2002.  While both follow ups were worthy, with many classic episodes (Jason Alexander’s “One Night at Mercy” being a personal favorite), the perfection of the original is something no one has been able to match so far.

In the hands of Singer, however, it’ll be very interesting to see what the team does to try and reach that level…Do you think he could do it?
