Hear How Leonardo DiCaprio Made Himself Bleed While Shooting DJANGO UNCHAINED

Leonardo DiCaprio is one of the greatest actors of our generation, and one story coming off of the DJANGO UNCHAINED set is proving it.

Variety recently published a feature looking at prospective nominees for this year’s Oscars, one of which is DiCaprio, and DJANGO producer Stacey Sher told an incredible story of how DiCaprio literally bled on set during a take, causing everyone to give him a standing ovation:

“Leo had slammed his hand on the table countless times and he moved his hand further and he crushed a crystal cordial glass,” Sher says. “Blood was dripping down his hand. He never broke character. He kept going. He was in such a zone. It was very intense. He required stitches. [The ovation was] not because he cut himself. Because in that scene he had pages and pages of monologue. His performance was masterful. His level of commitment is extraordinary.”

And that, my friends, is commitment to acting…
