PSY’s “Gangnam Style” Reaches ONE BILLION Views On Youtube In Less Than Six Months
Musicians, producers, artists… basically anyone who ever wants to go viral – will forever turn to PSY’s “Gangnam Style” for inspiration. The video has reached the digital equivalent of mass hysteria. ONE BILLION VIEWS.
Even heartthrob Justin Bieber has been beaten by the wildly popular video. (Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun has actually signed PSY to his record label.) And PSY himself, who attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, will himself take a closer look at his own work in considering his next move.
He tells The Hollywood Reporter:
“It’s something I think about, too — so that I can repeat it for the next single … I’m analyzing that right now and it’s really hard to tell. You could say it was all about the video, right? But I’m thinking people are already done with the video — they already saw it. But seeing the way people are acting, I think it’s the dance move.”
Whether or not you find the song catchy, (it is, IMOO) it’s hard to deny that the video itself is EPIC, and doesn’t shy away from making fun of itself. (Hence the model to your left here trying hard not to choke on the flying debris.)
If you haven’t seen it, take a look at what everyone else is talking about. Someone needs to do their college thesis on this thing. (I’m sure someone is.)
