VIDEO: Madonna Reprimands Smokers: “If You’re Going To Smoke Cigarettes I’m Not Doing A Show.”
Madonna was met with howls and boos during a soundcheck in Santiago, Chile when she went on a rant about the smokers, which included: “I can’t sing if you smoke. Entiendes?” (They were NOT impressed with the ‘Entiendes.’)
“If you’re gonna smoke cigarettes, I’m not doing a show,” she said. Some shrieked, then at least one guy panicked about the prospect, screaming “Don’t Smoke!”
Madonna continued: “I can’t sing if you smoke. Entiendes?”
Mind you, smoking is bad for you. And singers certainly don’t benefit from it. But perhaps her delivery could use a little more polish. Perhaps asking nicely first?
Other quotables? “If you love me, then don’t smoke.”
“You’re looking right at me while you’re smoking cigarettes, like I’m a stupid f—ing idiot.” Then she walked off the stage.
