The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that Peter Robbins, the onetime voice of Charlie Brown in the animated “Peanuts” TV series, was arrested over the weekend on five felony charges.

Authorities say that Robbins was arrested on Sunday evening as he crossed into the United States from Mexico at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. During a routine border examination, officers learned he was wanted by the San Diego Sheriff’s Department on a felony warrant for crimes against a person.  He was arrested and charged with four felony counts of “making a threat to cause death or great bodily injury”, as well as one felony count of stalking and is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.

The 56-year-old Robbins became the original voice of Charlie Brown when he was only nine years old, and voiced the character in several classic movies, including “A Charlie Brown Christmas,” “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “A Boy Named Charlie Brown.”
