Season 16 Stars Show Improvement in Week 4 of DWTS

dwtsIt was a family affair for many of the stars last night, as they danced routines based on the theme, “The Best Year of My Life.”

Abandoned by his own father at age 2, Jacoby Jones said the year his son was born was the best year of his life. The little guy was on hand to watch his dad perform a boot scootin’ foxtrot that Bruno said had “flash and flair.” And Ingo Rademacher continued to show improvement in his Viennese Waltz, which he dedicated to his wife. His young son gave him score of 3 during rehearsals, but the judges gave him a very respectable 23.

Dance of the Night: Andy and Sharna’s Viennese Waltz. This man truly wears his heart on his sleeve when he dances. That vulnerability, paired with an odd musicality, is what makes him so watchable. See what made Carrie Ann do the ugly cry:

Love Story: Kellie Pickler’s husband Kyle Jacobs performed his song “Say I Do,” while Kellie and Derek danced a graceful, understated rumba. Len noted that she was a “tad staccato” at times, but Carrie Ann praised her lines and the “beautiful pictures” Kellie created with her body.

Paso No-ble: I adore Victor and Lindsay as a team, but there’s no way around it. Victor has trouble even walking in time to the music. The judges commended him for his fighting spirit and commitment, but were hard pressed to find anything positive to say about his dancing ability. Team Victor landed in the bottom spot with 18 points.

Who’s going home: I think Lisa Vanderpump will retire her dancing shoes tonight. She was worn down by a bout with the flu this week, and unfortunately it showed. She and Gleb tied Victor and Lindsay for last place with 18 points.

Quotable Quote: “Nothing says ‘Compton’ like the foxtrot.” – D.L. Hughley

Quotable Quote Part Deux: “I love Dick.” – my best friend, during a phone conversation about Andy and Sharna’s routine.

High score:  Aly and Mark with 27     Low scores:  Lisa and Gleb/ Victor and Linsday,  tied at 18
