Twitter can be a bit of a dangerous thing…sometimes someone could say something and they don’t realize how bad it really is. Apparently that’s what happened with rapper 50 Cent, when he wrote a few choice texts about the aftermath of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami.
The rapper took to Twitter Friday while the U.S. West Coast braced for a potential tsunami, writing, “Wave will hit 8am them crazy white boys gonna try to go surfing.”
Two other tweets that followed also made jokes:
“Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my hoess from LA, Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol,”
“Its all good Till b**ches see there christian louboutins floating down da street shit gone get crazy.”
After receiving a flood of backlash, 50 got somewhat serious, saying that he tweets for the shock value:
“Nah this is nuts but what can anyone do about it. Let’s pray for anyone who has lost someone. Some of my tweets are ignorant I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it. I’m cool either way 50cent.”
The question is, did 50 go too far? At least in the end, he did somewhat apologize, unlike Gilbert Gottfried…
