Wow. Wow wow wow wow. MTV’s British version of the popular Jersey Shore series is frightening on many levels. They managed to clone virtually every aspect of the show. Sure, I’m not surprised that the guys are in shape, but they’re also tan, one of the gals even has a pouf on her head.It’s called “Geordie Shore,” and it follows some of the residents in Newcastle upon Tyne, its inhabitants often nicknamed “Geordies.” On the upside, if anyone ever argues that the Brits are our intellectual superiors, you’ve got a great argument against them now. It turns out there are shallow, self-loving, overtanned, juiceheads just about anywhere!
I can almost here the network discussion now… “You know, the format works, let’s not tinker too much with it. Get exactly the same people, but with British accents.” And so, here’s the video preview. You may not understand everything they’re saying, so here’s a few bits: “I don’t date anyone without a sixpack.” “My biggest fear is getting wrinkles,” and “I’m fit, I’m flirty, and I’m triple F.”
