While we’d all want our favorite bands to get back together at some point, it’s very rare that it actually seems to happen. For Fugees fans, however, according to Grammy-winning producer Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis, we may actually have a reunion sometime soon!
Duplessis, who produced many of the tracks on the band’s diamond-selling sophomore release ‘The Score,’ told Rap-Up.com that a reconciliation is imminent:
“I believe there will be a day when the Fugees get together, but everyone in the group’s gotta’ be ready…The Fugees are definitely going to get back together. The time will come. You’ve gotta wait, man.”
It’s a small little hint, and not too much credibility, but if a recent April Fools joke is any indication, fans would go crazy! Duplessis tweeted on April Fools that he was in the studio with members Pras, Wyclef Jean and Lauryn Hill. News of the gag spread like wildfire :
“In my studio, I was getting crazy phone calls and mad emails. My Twitter was going heavy. People all over the globe were saying, ‘Is it true? We really want the Fugees…Lauryn was getting phone calls. Wyclef was getting phone calls. Pras was getting phone calls. I felt that if tickets had gone on sale, it would have been sold out in two hours–globally.”
Only time will tell…
