Actor Jeff Conaway has slipped into a coma and is in critical condition following a possible drug overdose last week.
According to Conaway’s manager, Phil Brock, the 60-year-old was found unconscious on May 11th and immediately taken to a hospital in Encino, California. Brock told E! Online:
“He is in a coma and unresponsive at this time…He turned his head two days ago, but nothing since.”
Conaway rose to fame playing struggling actor Bobby Wheeler in “Taxi”, and lovable Greaser Kenickie in GREASE. His drug addictions in the 1980s soon led him to lose out on a lot of roles. Even though he underwent treatment, he soon relapsed in the 200s…much of which became painfully public during the filming of ‘Celebrity Rehab,” including a time where he told Dr. Drew that he saw himself committing suicide by “breaking that mirror and slicing my **** throat with it.”
