Major Changes For “Law And Order SVU!”

I am a huge Law And Order, SVU fan. (Don’t worry, it’s not the brutal attacks I enjoy, but the crime solving, and the characters of Stabler and Benson.) As a New Yorker, you’re almost required to love them, because at least once a month they’re usually shooting somewhere you’re trying to get to, with all their trailers and cameras, trying to get you to walk around that area instead of straight through, and unless you wanna be crabby all the time you learn to love those wacky TV makers.

Just over a week ago there was all this buzz that Mariska Hargitay was paring down her role to be with her kids, and Jennifer Love Hewitt was potentially going to be stepping onto the scene. Now we’re learning that Detective Stabler… (Christopher Meloni) is leaving the series altogether? Why must you taunt me, Dick Wolf? (the show’s creator and producer)

Entertainment Weekly confirms the news… After 12 seasons, Meloni, who has been with the show since it began, has turned down a big bus full of money in favor of exiting the series.

SVU is the last of the franchise to remain on network television… NBC announced last week “Law & Order: Los Angeles,” had been pronounced dead.
