For anyone who has grown up in the late 80s, early 90s, “Pop Up Video” means something to you. Well, get ready to travel back to the times of Nirvana, No Doubt, and Rick Astley…sort of…
VH1 announced today that it is resurrecting ‘Pop Up Video.’ We shall have 60 more half-hour episodes of the trivia show coming our way!
The new series will debut in the fall, nearly a decade after the original version went off the air. The show’s co-creator Woody Thompson said that he was sick of sitting on the sidelines:
“I have sat on the sidelines for the last decade and watched as everyone and the brother has ripped off ‘Pop Up’ in some way or another with the internet coming out of nowhere and Twitter being hauntingly familiar and all of these devices that are using snarky, pithy text.”
That’s a good enough reason for me! Bring back the wonderful little pop-ups, and let us enjoy finding out new facts about Eminem, Katy Perry, and so many more!
