After seeing some awesome on set photos and videos this week of Bane on THE DARK KNIGHT RISES, we have yet some more news to report, from the mouth of Bane, himself!
Tom Hardy was recently interviewed by Total Film, and obviously, TDKR and Bane came up very quickly. Luckily, Hardy had a lot to say to make us start salivating, starting with his reaction to being offered the villain role:
“Hang on a minute. You’re asking me to come round the world with you in a Batman movie, playing a villain, and the only downside to it is I have to wear a mask? Hmmm, let me think. I’ll get back to you… No, I’m fucking there, man! Anything you need.”
Obviously, the next question on everybody’s mind is whether or not this Bane would be doing what he is best known for in the Batman comics: Breaking Batman’s back:
“Mmmmm… Good lead-in, but all I can say is that Chris has a plan up his sleeve that’s not at all disappointing. And that is a definite choice that’s watertight in every respect…I think Bane’s fucking cool so I’m really excited to play him. It’s not the guy in Joel Schumacher’s film, but it shouldn’t disappoint fanboys.”
Damn you, Tom! You say it like that, and it just makes us want the movie even more!
