Chris Evans Talks About a CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel - POP GOES THE WEEK!!

Chris Evans Talks About a CAPTAIN AMERICA Sequel

Marvel has a lot on their plate.  They have THE AVENGERS in 2012, IRON MAN 3 and THOR 2 in 2013, and somewhere down the line, there will be a sequel to CAPTAIN AMERICA.  So…any idea where the status lies?

Chris Evans was recently asked that same question, and according to him, Marvel is going to make sure they treat the CAPTAIN AMERICA sequel right, even if it means it’ll take a little longer to reach theater screens:

“They may wait until 2014 until they release the next ‘Cap’…Marvel has a lot of balls in the air. They aren’t going to cannibalize their films.”

We also have to remember that Evans’ contract (like all the other actors playing superheros for Marvel) state that he must appear in six Marvel films, whether it be a cameo or a leading role:

“Out of those six films, if I pop up in one of those [other films], it counts as part of the deal…So if they needed me in a third ‘Cap’, and I say, ‘F*ck you, give me $30 million,’ well, they want to avoid that.”

So as we can see, Marvel has to be very particular with how they deal with Evans and the rest of their superheros, but I’m glad to know that they won’t be taking their Universe lightly…

Better make it count, Marvel!
