Hulu is Battling Netflix Over “Arrested Development” Rights

As we reported earlier this week, “Arrested Development” is coming back to television with ten new episodes and a feature film!  Yet, with that comes a massive bidding war, courtesy of a new late-entry bidder: Hulu.

According to JoBlo, after the announcement, Hulu immediately got in touch with representatives for series creator Mitch Hurwitz and and made their  pitch, promoting the fact that “Arrested Development” videos have gotten over 100 million impressions on their site since 2008.

Both Netflix and Hulu have been creating original content for the web (Netflix with Kevin Spacey and David Fincher, and Hulu with Morgan Spurlock), and who knows what the acquisition of “Arrested Development” would do for either.
