VIDEO: Thanksgiving Singing Flubs Abound! Avril Lavigne, Lauren Alaina, and Scotty McCreery

Oh, Thanksgiving Weekend. A time for family, Turkey, football, giving thanks, and apparently many many singing errors!

Oh, Thanksgiving Weekend.  A time for family, Turkey, football, giving thanks, and apparently many many singing errors!

For anyone watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade this year, we actually had two flubs!.  First, Ms. Avril Lavigne was getting ready to sing her new song “Wish You Were Here” on her float, when the vocal track started.  Her microphone wasn’t anywhere near her mouth at the time.  Oops!

Then, Mr. Scotty McCreery, the most recent American Idol, was getting ready to sing on HIS float, when the same exact thing happened!  The vocal track for “The Trouble With Girls” started, and Scotty didn’t…

But not all flubs came courtesy of the Thanksgiving Day Parade.  American Idol contestant Lauren Alaina was up to sing the National Anthem at the Lions/Packers game in Detroit.  She got up to “What so proudly we hailed…” before going silent for a verse.  The fans helped her out, though, and she soon made her way back on “Whose broad stripes and bright stars…” and finished off the song with a smile.

Alaina took it all in stride, though, posting on Twitter later to take full ownership of her mistake:

“Thank you everyone for the kind words…But the truth is I messed up. I’m gonna spend the rest of the day being thankful for all my blessings.”

And to help her out, fellow “Idol” alum Kellie Pickler gave a few choice words of wisdom, tweeting:

“HEY DOLL! YOU HANDLED YOURSELF LIKE A PRO! SEND THE BULLIES MY WAY & I’LL TELL EM’ WHERE TO GO”
