Alec Baldwin Removed From Flight to New York….Why?!?

Oh, Alec Baldwin. Such a rebel. He is so rebellious, in fact, that his crazy, rebellious behavior had him kicked off an American Airlines flight. What did he do, you ask? Well, he was playing Words With Friends. Wait, what??

Oh, Alec Baldwin.  Such a rebel.  He is so rebellious, in fact, that his crazy, rebellious behavior had him kicked off an American Airlines flight.  What did he do, you ask?  Well, he was playing Words With Friends.

Wait, what??

According to MSNBC, the “30 Rock” actor was kicked off his flight to New York at LAX today after being caught with his iPad still on.  Baldwin tweeted about the incident, writing,

“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving. #nowonderamericaairisbankrupt.”

Turns out that Alec wasn’t the only one tweeting about it, however.  A few other passengers also took the opportunity to let the Twitter world know what was going on, including Activate founder Michael J. Wolf, who wrote,

“On an AA flight at LAX. Alec Baldwin removed from the plane We had to go back to the gate. Terrible that everyone had to wait.”

In a statement to NBC News, Baldwin’s rep Matthew Hiltzik explained what happened:

“Alec was asked to leave the flight for playing ‘Words with Friends’ on his iPad, while parked at the gate. Alec is so in love with ‘Words with Friends’ that he would risk getting thrown off a flight to play. He’s already been re-booked on another American Airlines flight.”

As for the airline’s side of the story, Ed Martelle commented, saying,

“Owing to privacy concerns regarding our customers, we don’t comment on something that might or might not have happened.”

Probably not the best PR for American Airlines to have at the moment.  But damn though…Words with Friends is pretty addictive…
