THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO has is one of the most anticipated movies of this holiday season (The Feel Bad Movie of Christmas, if I remember correctly). And while the film hasn’t even been released yet, that doesn’t mean some sequel buzz can’t be thrown around.
According to WorstPreviews, Sony is hoping to get all three films from the trilogy on screen. The only problem is that they have not re-signed one huge key: director David Fincher, who says that he is more than happy to return, as long as the sequels are shot together:
“Classically movie studios don’t make deals with director even if there’s a hope that there’s going to be 3 [films], because they want to make sure that you behave…But yes, the second two books are very much one story. It doesn’t seem prudent to me to go to Sweden for a year, come back for a year, put out the second one, go to Sweden for a year, go back for a year.”
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO already has a 94% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes, as well as crazy Oscar buzz. I think we gotta give Fincher his trilogy. I think he’ll behave…
