Remember David Letterman’s Blackmailer? Well, He Has A New TV Job

The man who attempted to blackmail David Letterman back in 2009 now has another job in television.

The man who attempted to blackmail David Letterman back in 2009 now has another job in television.

According to MSNBC, Robert “Joe” Halderman has secured a job at “On the Case with Paula Zahn,” a weekly news magazine show on the Investigation Discovery Channel.

Halderman is the former CBS News producer who went to jail for trying to blackmail David Letterman with information about a sexual relationship with one of his staffers.

While Halderman may have a job, that doesn’t mean that Discovery is very keen on having it known.  Despite working on the show already this season, his name has yet to appear on the credits, and a Discovery spokesperson has pointed out that Halderman works for show creator Scott Weinberger’s company, Weinberger Media, and not the network itself.

Halderman was sentenced to six months in jail in 2010.  He served four months of that sentence.
