Sarah Jessica Parker may be married to the one and only Ferris Bueller, but that doesn’t mean everything is always fun and simple…

According to a new interview with the UK’s Telegraph, Parker says that juggling her career and three kids 8-year-old James Wilkie and 2-year-old twins Tabitha and Loretta, can put a strain on certain things…most specifically her marriage to husband Matthew Broderick:

“Kids can really distract you from your relationship…Maybe in good ways and bad ways. It’s important to have all eyes on all parts of the relationship.”

Parker, while saying she is  “an eternal optimist”, admits her marriage to the 49-year-old actor hasn’t always been easy:

“We’ve been together for 20 years and you have good days, you have decent days, and you have bad days. That’s a marriage. That’s a relationship. That’s a friendship, even — relationships outside the marriage run the same course…If you’re in it for the long haul and you want meaningful relationships, you are going to go through lots of different periods.”

Yet despite any concerns, Parker can still joke about her family, saying that her new twins cause her to be nervous about things she never thought she’d be nervous about before!  She said:

“Children provide a whole new set of concerns…Who knows what I’ll be insecure about next week?”

Parker’s new movie, NEW YEAR’S EVE, is out in theaters on Friday.
