After a tumultuous start this year at the Oscars with Brett Ratner and Eddie Murphy dropping out, producers finally pulled everything together by going back to the classic host: Billy Crystal.
For his ninth time hosting, Crystal opened the show with his usual shtick: inserting himself into some of the biggest movies of the year. Having fun with Best Picture nominees THE ARTIST, THE DESCENDANTS, MONEYBALL and THE HELP, among many others, and sporting cameos from George Clooney, Tom Cruise, and none other than Justin Bieber, it was a fun beginning to night dedicated to the classics.
