Ex-Turtles Star Says Michael Bay is “Raping” Childhood Memories, Bay Strikes Back

It turns out that the idea of making the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES come from space is not only pissing off a whole generation of children, but the actors who played the turtles as well!

It turns out that the idea of making the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES come from space is not only pissing off a whole generation of children, but the actors who played the turtles as well!

Voice-actor Robbie Rist was the man behind the voice of Michaelangelo in the original TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES movies.  He recently posted a letter to Michael Bay stating,

“You probably don’t know me but I did some voice work on the first set of movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing…I know believing in mutated talking turtles is kinda silly to begin with but am I supposed to be led to believe there are ninjas from another planet? The rape of our childhood memories continues … “

Even with those strong feelings, Rist told TMZ that he could be off base:

“Everything I have said here could be off base and wrong … He has made WAY more money at this than I have.”

All the fuss comes with the news that Bay plans to make the Turtles an alien race, instead of mutated baby turtles from a sewer.  (Yes, it sounds ridiculous, but it’s our childhood!)

As for Bay, he has released a statement on the subject, basically telling fans to relax, saying:

“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story…Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

So what do you think?  Alien TMNT?  Or back to the original?  While you decide, watch a little fraction of what made the original movies so great.

Of course, I’m talking about Vanilla Ice.
