Steve Wozniak Speaks Out on Ashton Kutcher’s Casting as Steve Jobs
Many skeptics came out of the woodwork last week when they heard that Ashton Kutcher had been chosen to play Steve Jobs in a new bio movie. Could he handle is? Is he any more than just a comedy/sitcom actor? Well, no matter what you may think of the casting choice, we now know that at least one person close to Jobs has given Kutcher their blessing.
Steve Wozniak, co-founder of Apple, spoke to TMZ about the decision, and says that he is more than happy with Kutcher playing his business partner:
“The fear that many might have is that Ashton was selected because he’s ‘hot’ right now…But I feel that his selection was done in the most professional manner. And I’m glad that he’s onboard.”
Wozniak says that while he feels the movie will be done very well, he is sad that Jobs isn’t around to lend his input:
“It’s almost too bad that Steve Jobs is gone. His opinions and guidance, as to the story and film crew and cast would have been invaluable.”
The upcoming biopic, titled JOBS, will be directed by Joshua Michael Stern. It will begin shooting in May.
