“Big Bang Theory” Star Jim Parsons Comes Out as Gay, In a Longterm Relationship

With “The Big Bang Theory”, Jim Parsons has become one of the biggest comedic television actors of the past decade, and now, he is opening up about his private life, telling the world that he is gay.

In a new piece for the New York Times to promote his new play, “Harvey”, Parsons mentioned his relationship, mostly nonchalantly, while answering questions about how the play resonated with him.  While no direct quotes were used, writer Patrick Healey said:

The Normal Heart’ resonated with him on a few levels: Mr. Parsons is gay and in a 10-year relationship, and working with an ensemble again onstage was like nourishment, he said.

While there was no word on whom Parsons’ significant other was, many speculate that the man in question is Todd Spiewack, the man whom many publications, including The Advocate, note is his partner, and one person Parsons thanked when he won a Golden Globe in 2011.

Neither Parsons, nor his reps have issued any comment on the matter.
