Elton John Hospitalized Due to Respiratory Infection

Elton John was rushed to the hospital yesterday after a serious respiratory infection developed the week before only worsened.

According to E! Online, John checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.  After several extensive tests, the 65-year-old’s doctors recommended that John not perform for approximately seven days and simply rest and undergo antibiotic treatment.

Those orders forced John to cancel three performances this weekend in Las Vegas.  He said in a statement:

“It feels strange not to be able to perform these ‘Million Dollar Piano’ concerts at The Colosseum,’…I love performing this show and I will be thrilled when we return to The Colosseum in October to complete the eleven concerts soon to be scheduled. All I can say to the fans is sorry I can’t be with you. I hope to see you soon at this wonderful theatre at Caesars Palace.”

If you’re a ticket holder, don’t worry…your ticket can either be refunded or exchanged for a later show.
