Miley Madness: Both Britney Spears and Elton John Weigh In, Opinions Differ Greatly

Miley Cyrus SledgehammerAs you know, everyone is talking about Miley Cyrus these days (with Amanda Bynes still kept at bay and Lindsay Lohan keeping things clean, we need someone!)
Obviously….People had STRONG feelings about her twerking and foam finger grinding at the VMAs, and then her Wrecking Ball Video where she forgot to put her underwear on and decided to lick a sledgehammer for a few shots. (And of course, who WOULDN’T want to lick a sledgehammer. I mean who can blame her for that.
Billy-Ray-Cyrus(And really, can we blame her for having some bad judgement when her dad Billy Ray had a mullet for like 20 years?)
But I digress.
NOW two pop icons are speaking out – and their opinions are VERY different!
Britney SpearsBritney Spears, who has had a similar life – starting out as a kid, going on to a big image evolution, is very supportive (PS – they share the same manager, Larry Rudolph! who is being blamed for making Miley too racy lately.)
Anyway, Britney said via GMA:  “I think anytime you do a performance that is that memorable, you’re going to have criticism,” she explained. “I think she’s doing her thing. She’s being herself, so I give props to her.”
Well… Britney’s support is FAR from a coincidence – Britney has a duet with Miley on Cyrus’s new album! The song is called ‘SMS Bangerz.’ So that support is pretty much to be expected.
Elton JohnMeanwhile – Elton John, who currently is NOT performing a duet with Spears feels a little differently. He says he can spot a car crash before it happens  – and thinks Miley is ripe for some trouble.
In an interview with The Australian, He said: ‘I look at Miley Cyrus and I see a meltdown waiting to happen. And she’s so young. But she’s got two records in the top 20, so who is going to stop her.’
John also expressed his fears for Lady Gaga and pointed out that Lindsay Lohan’s parents had doomed her from the start.

John, who knows a thing or two about living like a celebrity, is hoping that these young artists won’t get lost in the plight of fame and fortune.

PS – he has a new album – his 30th – set for release later this month.
