In a new ad campaign Schweppes touts itself as “Unexpected Since 1783.” But what is truly unexpected is Uma Thurman as the beverage’s celebrity spokesperson. What’s even more odd is that the commercial keeps reminding you it’s Uma, but Thurman appears to be playing a rather odd, foreign version of herself, using a hybrid form of English that, for some reason, works.
It also doesn’t hurt that Thurman looks stunning in the spot, which was directed by David LaChapelle.
