While the song is upbeat and catchy, it’s hard to imagine any tune meeting up to the heavy expectation set forth by her tragic death. As her last song, it will in essence be viewed as her last contribution to the world of music, and by some, as a final statement about herself. Few songs could live up to that expectation. It is no life changing number, a la ‘I Will Always Love You’  or ‘The Greatest Love Of All,’ but one might argue that when it was never intended to be.

The track was written by R&B artist R. Kelly, who performed Houston’s recent comeback hit “I Look To You” at Houston’s New Jersey funeral in February.

Houston’s passing has increase buzz about the summer release of Sparkle. Prior to the tragic event, rumor was that the studio had low hopes for the film, but the movie’s promotional department has seen increased marketing money since her death.
